IPAG paid tribute to its home community celebrating Iligan’s Golden Year with the well-acclaimed Tales From Mindanao. The outdoor performance at the Iligan City plaza last June 18 manifested how a locally-nurtured group has become the country’s most- travelled and most-awarded performing arts company.

IPAG’s participation further highlights the inclusivity and the dynamic presence of Iligan’s folk performing arts transcreated to a contemporary setting, thus gaining opportunities as the city bids to become the next UNESCO Creative City.

Iligan City became a chartered city on June 16, 1950, through Republic Act No. 525. Also known as the Charter of the City of Iligan, the law was authored by Congressman Mohammad Ali Dimaporo and signed into law by President Elpidio Quirino

𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨 is IPAG’s first international venture, representing the Philippines in the 1994 Singapore Festival of the Arts, subsequently gaining acclaim in over 100 world festivals.

Originally a repertoire of five dance-music vignettes derived from Mindanao stories and expressions (titled: 𝘽𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙮, 𝙋𝙖𝙜-𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙜, 𝙖𝙩 𝙆𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣: 𝙈𝙜𝙖 𝙆𝙬𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤), it premiered at the 1992 CCP Unang Tagpo. “Tales” (now with over 20 vignettes) opened its 3-month Europe tour two years later. The road shows followed in the next years in Europe. Asia, the US, the Hawaiian Islands, embracing millions of audiences in the last 3 decades.
